Our team

Owner operated, since 2012.

River Family Dentistry is owned and operated by Kitchener dentist Dr. Angelica Cornacchio, which is what keeps the quality and the consistency of care the same for every patient. She started here as an associate dentist in 2012 and is now the proud owner of the practice. Family is the most important word in the name, and from children to seniors we treat all of our patients as though they are a part of our own family.

Dr. Angelica Cornacchio

Doctor of Dental Surgery, owner

She decided to become a dentist because she wanted to help people, and finds it rewarding to see the immediate difference she can make by helping them eliminate pain and improve their smiles. Her gentle and patient nature helps her anticipate each person's comfort level, and she works well with children so that a first visit to the dentist is a positive one. She holds undergraduate and Master's degrees in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario and her doctorate in dental surgery from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, and is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Waterloo Wellington Dental Society and the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Asifa Naureen

Dr. Asifa Naureen

Dentist

She has been with the River Family Dentistry team since June 2019. She decided to become a dentist after seeing her mother suffer from dental issues at a young age, and finds it rewarding to help patients get their smile and confidence back, or simply get rid of the pain. She has extensive experience in general dentistry and takes the wisdom teeth and the complicated extractions. She was awarded her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Distinction from the University of Western Ontario in 2018.

Dr. Nicole Rutledge

Dr. Nicole Rutledge

Dentist

Born and raised here in Kitchener, she is proud to serve her own community at River Family Dentistry. She is passionate about all aspects of general dentistry, with a special interest in veneers, crown and bridgework, full smile makeovers and Invisalign clear aligner treatment. She understands that visiting the dentist can be daunting, and her greatest professional satisfaction comes from helping an apprehensive patient feel completely at ease.

The hygiene team

Registered Dental Hygienists

Emily, Wendy, Heidi, Alysha and Amanda are the hygienists, dental assistants and sterilization team you will meet when you come in. Two of the hygienists have around fifteen years of experience each. They believe patient education is essential to lifelong oral health, and take satisfaction in sending you home with the knowledge and the tools to look after your own teeth between visits.

I can't say enough good things about River Family Dentistry. The kindness and fantastic service from everyone on the team have been outstanding every time I've visited. I switched dentists a couple of years ago, and the difference has been amazing. From the warm welcome when you walk in to the professional, gentle care, they truly make going to the dentist a positive experience.

I've recently switched dentists, and have been impressed by the team at River Family Dentistry. Over the last two months have gone for a cleaning, checkup, fillings, and Invisalign consult. Wendy was amazing and so thorough, appreciated how she took the time to explain process and have never seen my teeth so white!

Your first visit

What the first appointment is.

Three steps, and nothing about your treatment is planned around a gap. Children should begin seeing a dentist regularly as early as the age of two.

  1. A conversation

About the purpose of your visit, what you would like from your dental treatment, and any questions or concerns you have about your care.

  2. Your history, in depth

An in depth review of your medical and dental history, so that nothing about your treatment is planned around a gap.

  3. A comprehensive exam

A full dental exam, which may include diagnostic models and radiographs. New patients can fill in the new patient form before arriving or on the day.
